A lot (all?) of foods are made better when you pour sugar on top of them. Grapefruit included. This was breakfast today.
Cut grapefruit in two, put a tsp of brown sugar and small pat of butter on each half, and then bake at 400′ for about 15-20 min.
The baking (and I suppose the sugar too) really mellows out the tartness of the grapefruit, which was nice. I could only eat half of it though (and no, not because it filled me up). I like it, but feel it’s best enjoyed in smaller batches. I also made a fruit + spinach smoothie to have along with it, so the vitamin c of the grapefruit would help with maximum iron absorption.
